Use Shiro Abhyanga, Nasyam and other Ayurveda techniques to reverse hair loss.

With all the technological advances, life in the 21st century is easier. We are also more likely to get sick due to our sedentary lifestyles and busy schedules, which can disrupt internal homeostasis. In the past decade, hair loss has increased dramatically. Many people suffer from hair fall, ranging in age from 20 to 50. Bad dietary habits, stressful lifestyles, and poor hair care contribute to the rapid rise in hair diseases.

Normal hair loss is between 50 and 100 strands per day. However, if this is the case, it could indicate that you have a health problem. The most attractive element is long, beautiful and full hair.

Ayurveda, an ancient holistic system for medicine, is more than a lifestyle treatment. It helps people live healthier life by being in tune with their internal and external environments. Ayurveda views hair as a product of healthy Asthi Dhatu (bone tissue). Good digestion and a healthy Dosha body are key factors in the health of Asthi Dhatu. Below are some of the possible causes of hair loss.

Hair fall causes
  • A poor diet that lacks essential nutrients is a sign of a poor diet
  • High levels of stress and lack of sleep
  • Consumption of spicy, sour and salty foods excessively
  • Salty eating habits, irregular meal times, skipping breakfast and a lack of nutrition can lead to excessive salt intake.
  • Hair health can also be affected by excessive exposure to environmental factors such as smoke, sunlight, and fog.
  • These causes cause Pitta to aggravate with Vata and other doshas and lead to hair fall.
How can I stop my hair from falling?

This issue of hair loss can be addressed in a few easy steps.

Coconut-based hair oil can be used to oil the scalp.

According to Ayurveda, the head is one of the three trimarans. Oiling your head every day improves the function of all your sense organs. Oiling your hair gives the cortex strength and nourishment. Coconut-based hair oil can protect your hair, condition it, and increase blood flow in the neck and head. As we have already mentioned, hair is a product of Asthi Dhatu. Therefore, applying coconut oil to your hair can help strengthen it by increasing blood circulation and stimulating the growth of Roma Koopas (hair follicles). Coconut-based hair oil is buttery and cool, which balances Pitta & Vata. Coconut oil has MCTs and lauric acid, which can improve hair and scalp health. This is why it can be used to repair damaged hair and stimulate the growth of new hair. It’s also an effective treatment for hair loss.

Nasal drops

Hair fall can be reduced by using medicated oil or Ghee daily. This will help to accelerate hair growth. Nasal drops nourish and strengthen hair. Nasya stimulates hair follicles for new hair growth.

Wash your hair

Before taking a head bath, it is important to check the water temperature. According to Ayurveda, warm water should never be used on the head. It can cause hair loss and eye damage. Use cold water to wash your hair. Avoid using chemical-based shampoos that can irritate hair and cause further damage.

Protect your head

Protect yourself from the elements by wearing a cap/turban or an umbrella.

Exercise and healthy eating habits are key to a healthy lifestyle.

Include whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and protein in your diet. Regular consumption of nuts such as almonds can increase essential nutrients like Zinc, Biotin, and other nutrients vital for hair growth. According to Ayurveda, they are one of the best foods for boosting Ojas. Ojas is the vital power that improves your overall health and protects against illness.

The absorption of nutrients can be enhanced by eating food freshly prepared. It can also increase your jataragni, which helps form all tissue systems, including Asthi Dhatu.

Exercise aids in maintaining hormone balance and circulation. It is recommended to do simple yoga poses such as Vajrasana, Adho mukha-svanasana, and Balasana.

Manage stress

Stress is a part of modern life. It affects our mental and physical health as well as our physical health. Warm coconut oil and hair oil are my go-to stress relievers. I also recommend a shoulder and head massage, walking in a park, and avoiding social media. Talk to a professional if your stress is severe.

Chemical Products

Regular use of chemically-based hair products could cause hair loss and damage your hair roots. To keep your hair healthy, avoid chemical treatments and hot ironing.

Shiro Abhyanga, Shiro Pichu

Ayurvedic treatments such as Shiro Abhyanga or Shiro Pichu include hair-friendly herbs and coconut-based oils, and Shiro Pichu is great for reducing excess heat.

It is possible to reverse hair loss naturally by changing your lifestyle and diet and oiling your hair frequently.
