Confession: My time management skills are terrible . If I’m told to get there by 7 P.M., it’s likely that I will arrive at 7:20 P.M. It could be laziness, blatant disregard for time, or both. But I have mastered the art and skill of makeup in less than five minutes. My quick five-minute makeup routine consists only of a few basic products that make me look natural and polished. This is my secret favorite makeup look. Continue reading my routine to see a quick, five-minute face.
First, I must moisturize.
Moisturizer with sunscreen is my first step regardless of whether I’m wearing makeup. It prepares my skin for makeup application and keeps it hydrated throughout the day.
Concealer is the next essential.
If I have only a few minutes to do my makeup I will use a versatile concealer. This is a quick and easy method to even out skin tone. It targets dark circles and under-eye circles and allows my skin to shine through, giving me a natural look. Editor’s tip: Use full-coverage concealers with caution. While some concealers look natural without foundation, others need more blending to achieve a natural look.
Next, it’s time to do the brows.
I consider defined brows a must-have for a quick face-up (and any other time) because they instantly make me appear more polished. To achieve vintage Brooke Shields eyebrows, all you need is a few strokes of the pencil and a couple of brushes.
My eyes sparkle with mascara
A little mascara is a must for my makeup. Milani’s Most Wanted Lift & Curl Mascara is my current favorite. It helps thicken and lengthen my eyelashes in just one swipe.
I will blush my cheeks a bit.
When I’m doing a quick make-up look, I don’t always use blush. If I have time, I will apply a few swipes to my apples (or the most round part) of my cheeks to create a glowing-from within look.
My five-minute facial is always completed with a lip tint.
This makeup look is very natural so I prefer a tinted lip balm. It hydrates my lips and gives me a hint of color. Tinted lip balms are easy to apply and don’t require as much precision as lipstick. My current lip balm has Sun Protection Factor 15.
